"BARBARA'S MUSICALS"

Children believe much of what they see and hear on the stage, especially when their peers act out the material. Writing for this audience is a big responsibility and the author must be aware of every phrase and nuance. Barbara understands this all too well and accepts this responsibility gladly. Her favorite time during the writing of a new musical is figuring out how this story might have really happened to people that seem familiar. In other words, what elements in the story has kept it alive for centuries and why are parents and teachers still telling this story to our smart, savvy, 21st century kids?

Barbara has been writing original musicals since the early 1970's, retelling the children's fairy tales and classics, then writing her own new stories. All the music was written in a range that young voices could handle, yet is so tuneful that audiences walk out humming and whistling. The kids like to come back time and time again in order to learn more music and words.
